The exposition of Belarusian producers "Made in Belarus" has started its work within the framework of the international exhibition Sudan Agrofood, which is taking place these days in the Sudanese capital. The exposition was organized by the Belinterexpo Exhibition Company of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the support and active participation of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of Sudan (concurrently).

As part of a specialized exhibition dedicated to the agricultural and food industry, national expositions of France, Germany, Turkey and other countries are presented.

The Belarusian exposition, which is organized for the first time at this prestigious exhibition, was given a special honor: the first day of the event, March 4, was declared the Day of Belarus. And the next day, March 5, a large-scale business forum was held with the participation of officials, diplomats, heads of business unions and business circles of the two countries.

More than ten companies representing agricultural engineering and food products take part in the work of the Belarusian exposition. A number of enterprises are already operating in the Sudanese market, while others expect to find business partners during the exhibition.

The equipment produced by subordinate enterprises of the Ministry of Industry is already on the market in Sudan. More than 2,400 tractors "Belarus" of the Minsk Tractor Plant operate in the country, trucks of the Minsk Automobile Plant and grain harvesters "Gomselmash" are supplied. Belarusian machine builders widely demonstrated the manufactured equipment, including in the form of full-scale samples, within the framework of the exposition. Belarusian producers are represented in Sudan by MIG Agriculture.

The exhibition is attended by "Spartak", "Minsk Margarine Plant", "Slodych" and other subordinate enterprises of the concern "Belgospischeprom". Sudanese visitors were interested in Spartak chocolate and sweets, as well as a wide range of Slodych cookies: world-class quality, natural ingredients, reasonable price. "Minsk Margarine Plant" demonstrated a number of products relevant for the African market: margarines, spreads, vegetable oils, sauces, ketchups, mayonnaises with a long shelf life.

Representatives of thirty Sudanese enterprises took part in the Belarusian-Sudanese business forum organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Federation of Businessmen and Employers of Sudan together with the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Arab Republic of Egypt. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of Sudan (concurrently) Sergei Rachkov, Secretary General of the Union of Agricultural Chambers of Sudan Kamal Salih Eldzhak, Director of the unitary enterprise "Belinterexpo" BelCCI Yevgeny Vvedensky delivered welcoming speeches. The event was attended by the Director General of the Federal Union of Businessmen of Sudan Abdusalam Mohammed Gadi, representatives of the leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture of Sudan and the Union of Women Businessmen of Sudan.

The growing interest in the Sudanese market is due to a number of factors. The vast territory of the country (1,886,000 square kilometers) is rich in minerals, the extraction of which is growing every year. A significant part of the country has fertile land and is suitable for agriculture and animal husbandry, which is why Sudan is called the “food basket” in the region.

The geographical position of the country - access to the sea, a common border with seven African countries - allows us to consider Sudan as a platform for the development of trade in the region, as well as joint production. And thanks to the unique fusion of nationalities and traditions, Sudan is called the "gateway between the Arab and African civilizations."

The geography of the Belarusian expositions planned in 2019, held by the unitary enterprise "Belinterexpo" of the BelCCI, includes more than thirty events in Asia, Africa, Europe and America. Large exhibitions of Belarusian manufacturers are also planned in Georgia and Kazakhstan.
