The national exposition of the Republic of Belarus began its work within the framework of the International Exhibition of Agriculture, Food and Drinks "Agrofood", which takes place from March 26-28, 2019 in Lagos.

Nigeria is the largest economy on the African continent in terms of GDP in absolute terms, which in 2017, according to the IMF, amounted to 375.8 billion US dollars, as well as the largest country in terms of population (198.2 million people) and one of the richest in natural resources. resources of the state of the African continent.

Companies from 24 countries participate in the Agrofood exhibition. In addition to Belarus, national pavilions were presented by Germany, Italy, China, the Netherlands, Turkey, France and Switzerland. Ambassador of Belarus to Nigeria Vyacheslav Bril spoke at the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

More than 20 companies and organizations representing agricultural engineering, scientific developments in the field of agriculture, food products and food ingredients take part in the work of the Belarusian exposition. A number of enterprises are already operating in the Nigerian market, while others expect to find business partners during the exhibition.

The enterprises of the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Belarus are widely represented at the exhibition.

Minsk Tractor Plant presents a wide range of models and modifications of Belarus tractors with power from 9 to 350 horsepower, designed to work in tropical climates. The tractors have an improved cooling system; if necessary, a full-fledged cabin can be replaced with an awning frame.

Bobruiskagromash offers the Nigerian market machines for applying organic and mineral fertilizers, equipment for harvesting and storing fodder, tractor trailers and semi-trailers, as well as tillage equipment.

Minsk Automobile Plant demonstrates a special range of vehicles designed for operation in hot climates: road trains for transporting various cargoes, dump trucks, as well as a suburban bus MAZ 131, designed specifically for the African region.

Gomselmash presents grain and forage harvesters under the PALESSE trademark, as well as a KhMP-1.8 cotton picker.

The Belagro group of companies provides comprehensive solutions in the field of agriculture, providing farmers with multi-brand equipment, spare parts and after-sales service. Over the past year, Belagro has supplied Belarusian equipment to Ghana and Nigeria for over 2 million US dollars.

Scientific, technical and innovative developments are presented at the collective stand of the State Committee for Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus (SCST).

The exposition demonstrated samples of high-tech products of subordinate institutes and scientific and practical centers of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus: biological products for crop production, animal husbandry, fish farming, environmental protection, as well as scientific developments for use in the food industry.

For example, the “Institute of the Meat and Dairy Industry” of the Republican Unitary Enterprise “Scientific and Practical Center for Food of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus” demonstrates for the Nigerian market dry mixes intended for making ice cream, both at catering establishments and at home. These dry mixes are especially relevant for the African market as they can be stored for up to 6 months at room temperature.

The exposition also presents the developments of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus and subordinate universities: resource- and energy-saving technologies, technological processes for foundry production, welding, powder metallurgy, as well as developments in the food industry and veterinary medicine.

In particular, the Belarusian State University demonstrates an innovative and unparalleled series of veterinary biological products for the treatment and prevention of diseases of farm animals, drugs for cattle, horses, pigs, and domestic animals.
