THE PAVILION “BELARUS - THE TASTE OF NATURE” AT GULFOOD 2021: FIRST ACHIEVEMENTS

The Belarusian delegation is working at the largest international exhibition of food and beverages Gulfood 2021 in Dubai.

On February 21, the Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Ulakhovich met with Deputy Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology of the United Arab Emirates Omar Al Suwaidi. The sides discussed the Halal certification scheme and the possibility to arrange a training seminar on the requirements for this certification by the Emirati side.

On February 23, the director of International Offices at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry Omar Alkhan attended the Belarus Pavilion and tasted showcased products. Besides, agreements were reached on further inter-chamber cooperation to represent the interests of Belarusian producers in the United Arab Emirates.

According to the director of Unitary Enterprise “Belinterexpo” of the BelCCI Evgeniy Vvedenskiy, “on February 24, the Minister of Climate Change and Environment Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi attended the Belarus Pavilion. This Ministry is responsible for veterinary control and admission of imported products to the UAE market.

The Minister also had a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the United Arab Emirates Andrei Luchenok. The sides discussed the issue of prompt decision-making on the admission of Belarusian poultry meat to the UAE market.”

Following the results of four days of the exhibition, a number of participants have already reached an agreement to supply products to the UAE and as well as to Bangladesh, Ghana, Egypt, Jordan, Iran, Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon, Libya, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Serbia and Syria. In particular, the plant “Rogachev Tinned Dairy Industrial Complex” signed a contract for the supply of 25 tons of butter with 82.5% fat content to UAE. The company is already well-known in the UAE market. Demonstrated canned milk is available here in stores. Concentrated milk is the next product in the UAE market.
