The National Exposition of Belarus featuring more than 100 enterprises and science organizations takes place at one of the world largest exhibitions – China International Import Expo 2019, which is held in Shanghai from the 5th until the 20th of November.
The Exposition opening was attended by the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus, Anatoly Khotko, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the People's Republic of China, Kirill Rudy, Gansu Province Governor, Tang Renjian, Shaanxi Province Vice Governor, Xiu Datong, Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vladimir Ulakhovich, representatives of state authorities of the two countries.
The National Exposition has been organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry under the assistance of the Embassy of Belarus in China, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the State Committee of Science and Technology, Belgospishcheprom, Bellesbumprom, Belneftekhim concerns. The exhibition operator is Belinterexpo enterprise of the BelCCI.
The Belarusian exposition is held within the Shanghai expo for the second time. Domestic manufacturers demonstrate innovative petroleum chemistry products, agricultural machinery samples, meat and dairy products, flax products, R&D results of the leading universities of the country and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, medical tourism services, transport and logistics services.
The National Pavilion has a shape of a diamond, the miniature of the National Library of Belarus, which is a symbol of knowledge, hi-tech developments and reliable R&D foundation. Business and cultural events take place within the "diamond".
During the first days of the expo, Belarusian participants have signed contracts and agreements with the Chinese partners for a total amount of more than USD 150 mln. The majority – contracts worth USD 130 mln were signed at the business forum "Belarus – China: Trade and Economic Relations, Cooperation Prospects, Investment Potential".
The business program of the National Exposition also includes Branch Exponents Forum, organized by the Ministry of Commerce of China, branch seminars dedicated to food production, car engineering, service sector and R&D results.
