The woodworking industry of the Republic of Belarus opened at the exhibition Imm Cologne

For the first time ever the joint exposition of the leading Belarusian woodworking and furniture companies and plants is showcased at the most anticipated furniture event of 2019 – Imm Cologne Fair. This year the fair gathered over 1450 participants from 55 countries on the area of 280 000 sqm. The Belarusian exposition is designed as a Belarusian flat with a kitchen, a dining room, bedrooms, a walk-in closet and a hall. The exposition logo: The Republic of Belarus presents: top quality and reliable partners.
A 200 sqm exposition features such flagships of the Belarusian woodworking and furniture industries as JSC Gomel Furniture Factory Progress, JSC Molodechnomebel, JLLC ZOVLenEVROMEBEL, JSC Gomeldrev, JSC Mogilevdrev, JSC FanDOC, JSC Ivacevichdrev, JSC Rechitsadrev, Almaz-Luks LLC and IE Barro. Among other things, the companies showcase furniture collections designed for the European market in compliance with all relevant standards and current trends for simple yet functional design, solid wood and natural materials, somber and natural colors. Some of the companies are already delivering their products to the European market, others are only about to start.
The event is organized under the aegis of Bellesbumprom Concern in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus to Germany, Belarusian Furniture and Woodworking Association, BORWOOD Woodworking Holding and the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The exhibition company is Exhibition Unitary Enterprise "Belinterexpo" of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The business program of the event was particularly busy on January the 15th and the 16th.
The official opening of the Belarusian exposition took place with participation of the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Germany – Denis Sidorenko, Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Woodworking and Paper Concern – Mikhail Kasko, Chairman of the Board of the Belarusian Furniture and Woodworking Association - Valeriy Bushilo and Director of Exhibition Unitary Enterprise "Belinterexpo" of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Evgeniy Vvedenskiy.
Topical workshops and presentations on potential opportunities of the Belarusian woodworking industry for German and European markets were held as part of the fair. The participants involved major players and famous people such as the President of the German Forestry Association – Jan Kurt, Managing Director of the German Federation for Wood Packaging, Pallets, Export Packaging - Markus Kirschner, management representatives of the Association of the German Furniture Industry, big sales and manufacturing network OTTO, and other branch associations and distribution networks, as well as businessmen from Spain, Poland, Sweden, France and many other countries.
According to the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Germany – Denis Sidorenko - “the volume of products exported to Germany is growing. In 2018 alone it increased by more than 40%. In 2017-2018 the scope of the Belarusian export to Germany saw an over 30% increase, and the volume of German investments into the Belarusian economy witnessed a more than a twofold increase.
"Belinterexpo" of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has set a plan for more than 40 exhibitions and expositions of the Belarusian manufacturers under the common brand Made in Belarus in 2019 aimed at building up the Belarusian export on the promising markets, such as China, UAE, Sudan, Egypt, Nigeria, Great Britain, Sweden, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Syria, Iraq, Mongolia, Argentina, Indonesia, Turkey, Bulgaria and others.
Foreign expositions of the Belarusian manufacturers mean the best compromise of key factors for successful exhibiting: priority location in pavilions, up-to-date booths, extended package of marketing, advertising and information services, official support and opportunities to establish contacts with major industry players in the region.
