In anticipation of the International Exhibition Rebuild Syria in Damascus, which will feature the Made in Belarus exposition of the Belarusian manufacturers, representatives of the participating companies had a series of meetings with the business executives of Syria.

In particular, during a meeting with Mr. Labib al-Ekhwan, the Vice President of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce – the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Homs, the parties discussed cooperation in terms of water purification units, civil works in Syria, delivery of agricultural equipment. The Belarusian delegation received an invitation to visit the city of Homs and the industrial area of Hassia where it is suggested to hold a presentation of the Belarusian products. The Belarusian side invited Mr. Labib al-Ekhwan and the county’s agrarian representatives to Belarus to study the Belarusian experience in construction of commercial dairy farms in the Minsk Region.

As a result of the meeting with a representative of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Syria – Mr. Riad Hamad, it was agreed to hold regular topical business seminars in Syria and Belarus by turns. The parties defined strategic areas for promotion of export of Belarusian goods and services in Syria.

Another meeting was held with Mr. Mohammed Al Kechto, the President of the Federation of Syria Chambers of Agriculture. The parties discussed cooperation in agriculture, export of Syrian agricultural products (fruits and vegetables) into Belarus, export of Belarusian agricultural machinery into Syria, cooperation in cattle breeding selection and setup of commercial dairy farms.

During the meeting with Mr. Osama Mustafa, a deputy, the President of the Damuscus Chamber of Commerce, the parties discussed prospects for trade cooperation. The meeting was attended by business executives of the region – construction companies, textile, and food companies.

There was also a meeting with the members of the Syrian-Belarusian Business Council chaired by Enayat Allah Hassoun and with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Syrian Arab Republic Yuri Sluka.

The Belarusian delegation, taking part in the Made in Belarus exposition, includes representatives of five enterprises: Minsk Tractor Works, Minsk Automobile Plant, Minsk Motor Plant, Brest Electrotechnical Plant, and EAA-SPETSSTROY.

The organizing company of the Made in Belarus exposition is Exhibition Enterprise “Belinterexpo” of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The event is held with support of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Syrian Arab Republic.
