Belarusian Companies Took Part in the World of Trade Convention in Almaty
Slutsk Cheese-Making Plant, Grodno Meat-Packing Plant and other companies featured in the national pavilion of the Republic of Belarus at the 23d Central Asian International Food Industry Exhibition - FoodExpo Qazaqstan took part in a major business event, the World of Trade Convention, held in Almaty on November 5 through 6. Representatives of the Belarusian companies demonstrated their products and held a series of negotiations with business-partners.
The 14th International Meeting of Retailers and Suppliers took place in Almaty as part of the Convention. It included reports of the representatives of trade organizations from Kazakhstan and other CIS countries: the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs Atameken, the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, QazTrade Trade Policy Development Center; trade companies Nielsen Kazakhstan, Prosystems, 1-С Sapa and Slava KVC, NLT Trade, TC Inmart, TN Kehmart, X5 Import and others.
Participants discussed a number of issues associated with changes in the trade industry in the post-COVID-19 times, retail process engineering solutions, government regulation of trade and X5-retail.
A visit to the Metro trade chain was arranged as part of the Convention. This is a leading international wholesale company with a range of food and non-food products, rendering services to hotels, restaurants and public catering facilities (HoReCa), as well as independent traders. The Kazakhstan representative office of the company manages six trade centers in Almaty, Karaganda, Nur-Sultan, Pavlodar, Ust Kamenogorsk, and Shymkent, as well as six wholesale warehouses for qualified buyers in Aktau, Aktobe, Almaty, Atyrau, Nur-Sultan, and Uralsk.
Another event was the International Negotiations Center with participants from the major trade networks and distributors from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstanа, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The Convention participants also held negotiations at the booths of the FoodExpo Qazaqstan exhibitors and offered tastings of the products on display.
The World of Trade Convention is a traditional meeting for the CIS retailers and suppliers held in Almaty and consisting of a retail congress, a purchasing center, exhibitions and visits to the trade centers of Kazakhstan. Organizers of the Convention are: Exim Expo, QazTrade, the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs Atameken, the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Exhibition Unitary Enterprise “Belinterexpo” of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Partners of the event include over 50 CIS companies.
The National Pavilion of the Republic of Belarus at the 23d Central Asian International Food Industry Exhibition - FoodExpo Qazaqstan – held early in November in Almaty included 11 food companies demonstrating a wide range of meat, dairy and canned milk products.
The exposition of FoodExpo Qazaqstan features 421 participant companies from 26 countries: Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, the Netherlands, Papua New Guinea, Poland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, the USA, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, France, the Czech Republic, Sri Lanka, and the South Korea. The national pavilions are displayed by Belarus, Germany, Indonesia, the Netherlands, the USA, the South Korea, and more than 25 regions of the Russian Federation.
Exhibition Unitary Enterprise “Belinterexpo” of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has held over 250 exhibitions and conferences in 60 countries.
