Belarusian Companies Signed Contracts for 3.8 USD Million at the Exhibition in Kazakhstan
Early in November 2021 a series of major international congress and exhibition events took place in the Kazakhstan Center for Business Cooperation (Almaty, Kazakhstan): food and agriculture exhibitions, business forums, workshops, conventions with active participation of an extensive Belarusian delegation: executives of relevant ministries, company representatives, trade experts.
The national pavilion of the Republic of Belarus, featured at the key event, the 23d Central Asian International Food Industry Exhibition - FoodExpo Qazaqstan, incorporated 11 meat, dairy and canned milk companies, demonstrating a wide range of products. Belarusian companies concluded a number of commercial contracts with distribution networks and companies from Kazakhstan and Russia for the total of over 3.8 USD Million.
Mr. Igor Brylo, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus, took part in the formal opening of the event on behalf of Belarus.
Apart from Belarus, FoodExpo Qazaqstan featured 421 companies from 25 countries: Austria, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Indonesia, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Papua New Guinea, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, the USA, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, France, the Czech Republic, and the South Korea. National pavilions were demonstrated by Belarus, Germany, Indonesia, the Netherlands, the USA, Russia and the South Korea.
The Kazakhstan-Belarus Agro Forum was timed to coincide with the national pavilion of the Republic of Belarus at FoodExpo Qazaqstan and took place on November 4. Experts and practitioners discussed the experience in the agro-industrial sectors of Kazakhstan and Belarus during the event which was held for the first time ever in the relationship history of the two countries. The results of the meeting include a number of documents on cooperation in cattle breeding, livestock breeding and construction in agriculture.
Participants of the Belarusian pavilion - Slutsk Cheese-Making Plant, Grodno Meat-Packing Plant and other – took part in the World of Trade Convention on November 5 and 6, conducted negotiations and presented their products. The meeting of the CIS retailers and suppliers, the International Center of Negotiations, as well as visits to the major distribution networks of Kazakhstan, took place as part of the Convention.
The members of the Belarusian delegation to Kazakhstan had a meeting with the management of the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University (KazNARU), in participation of Mr. Rustem Kurmanov, Vice Minister for Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Mr. Azat Sultanov, Director of the Department of Production and Processing of Plant Products, Chairperson of the Board of KazNARU. Enhancing cooperation in education and agriculture between the two countries was marked during the event.
The members of the Belarusian delegation also had a meeting with Mr. Maksat Kikimov, Deputy Head of the Administration of Almaty.
Business events in Kazakhstan were organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus, regional executive committees, Minsk City Executive Committee, Exhibition Unitary Enterprise “Belinterexpo” of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
