On February 13-17, Dubai held the world’s largest food and beverage trade exhibition Gulfood, featuring overе 4000 companies from 120 countries. For the seventh year in a row, Belarus displayed its national pavilion at this prestigious international ground. As a result, Belarusian companies made agreements on deliveries of their products to distributors and bulk buyers from different countries, including:
Agrokombinat "Dzerzhinskiy" agreed deliveries of poultry meat to Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and its subsidiary 1st Minsk Poultry Plant – deliveries of chicken eggs to the African countries and the Emirate of Dubai;
Molochny Mir agreed deliveries of butter to the EU;
Lida Milk Plant agreed deliveries of skim milk powder to the Emirate of Dubai and South Korea, whole milk powder – to Azerbaijan;
Primemilk agreed deliveries of evaporated milk formula to Jordan, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia;
Volkovysk Meat-Processing Plant, Grodno Meat-Packing Plant, and Veles-Meat reached agreements on deliveries of beef to China and by-products to the countries of Africa.
Dairy products displayed at the exposition Belarus – the Taste of Nature, sparked interest with importers from Bangladesh, Kuwait, the UAE, the USA, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and the Philippines. The companies also negotiated delivery of finished products to major distribution networks in the UAE.
The national pavilion Belarus – the Taste of Nature included booths of 10 Belarusian companies: Agrokombinat "Dzerzhinskiy", Bellakt, Veles-Meat, Volkovysk Meat-Processing Plant, Grodno Meat-Packing Plant, Lida Milk Plant, Molochny Mir, Primemilk, Slonim Meat-Packing Plant, and Slutsk Cheese-Making Plant. Seven companies represented the Grodno Region, and three companies represented Minsk and the Minsk Region.
Participants of the Belarusian pavilion displayed a wide range of meat and dairy products – poultry, beef, ready-to-cook products, canned goods, by-products, milk powder, evaporated milk formula and many more. New products were also on show – infant food, cream cheese, cheese.
The formal opening of the Belarusian exposition was attended by Ms. Alla Lomakina, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus, Mr. Valerian Klim, CEO of Holding management company Grodnomyasomolprom, Mr. Evgeny Lazarev, Consul General of Belarus in Dubai, and Mr. Evgeniy Vvedenskiy, Director of Exhibition Unitary Enterprise “Belinterexpo” of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
“Since 2016 food export from Belarus to the UAE has seen a nine-fold increase – up to 3.4 Million USD in 2021,” said Ksenia Meleshko, Head of the General Directorate for Foreign Economic Activity under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus. “The Gulfood trade fair plays an important role here, being a great platform for conclusion of export contracts with importers from non-CIS countries. All Belarusian products in the pavilion were met with great interest. Negotiations were running without any breaks.”
Meetings between Ms. Alla Lomakina, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus, Mr. Hamad Buamim, President & CEO of Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and Mr. Mohammed Al Kamali, Deputy CEO of Dubai Industries & Exports, took place during the trade exhibition.
Participants of the pavilion Belarus – the Taste of Nature presented their export potential as part of the World EXPO 2020 in Dubai. The event featured speeches of Ms. Alla Lomakina, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus, as well as representatives of Bellakt, Grodno Meat-Packing Plant, and Molochny Mir. The meeting was attended by Mr. Andrei Luchenok, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus in the United Arab Emirates, and Mr. Evgeny Lazarev, Consul General of Belarus in Dubai. Participants and guests of the event emphasized high quality of Belarusian products and great prospects for their promotion to the regional market.
The organizing company of the Belarusian pavilion at the International Food and Beverage Trade Exhibition Gulfood is Exhibition Unitary Enterprise “Belinterexpo” of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The event is organized with support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus, Embassy of the Republic of Belarus to the United Arab Emirates, state agency Dubai Industries and Exports, Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
In the nearest time the Belarusian expositions will be featured at major food and multi-industry exhibitions abroad: in Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Serbia, Kenia and other countries.
It is planned to complete the shaping of expositions in Uzbekistan and Vietnam within February. We suggest companies, interested in promoting export into these countries, promptly book a booth and enjoy the advantages of the unfolding marketing campaign.
